Melody immediately inquires as to how is this or that doing as if we were personal friends. She makes me feel completely at ease.
Melody has been my receiving nurse for several years. When she comes to the waiting to get me, she always recognizes me and greets me with a smile as she asks me "So how have you been?" This warm and personal query makes me feel confident that I am more than just another appointment (even though, I know I am). She immediately inquires as to how is this or that doing as if we were personal friends. She makes me feel completely at ease.
On occasion, she noticed that on our walk from the waiting room to the exam room that I was breathing heavy, she asked: "do you get out of breath often?" I answered, yes, if I'm working hard or have to walk fast.
She took me on a rather brisk walk and took an oxygen reading. She left the room and came back with an oxygen tank and took me on the same walk. This time with oxygen, which made big difference. She conferred with the doctor and he prescribed oxygen, which I am now using, and I am doing better than ever.
Recently, she treated me for an injury to my tailbone area caused by a four-day stay in a hospital's chair. She also treated me for edema in the lower legs. She cured the tailbone area issue and reduced the swelling in my legs considerably.
Note: This is Melody's 2nd DAISY Award!
