Megan is an exceptional nurse. She has a quiet confidence that makes her patients feel safe and well cared for. Her naturally calming presence on our unit never fails, even in the most challenging and chaotic shifts. Her calm nature is infectious. She can handle anything that comes her way.
Recently, Megan was able to manage an incredibly clinically complex patient, while supporting a family that was grieving, all while precepting a nurse new to the ICU. She remained focused and was able to meet everyone's needs. She works hard to make sure her patients are well taken care of and communicates appropriately when she is concerned about changes in patient status.
In addition to meeting the needs of her patients, Megan proactively helps her coworkers. She jumps in and helps wherever she can. Megan is flexible and willing to do whatever is needed of her and does so with a smile on her face. As her peers say: "When we see Megan on the schedule, we know it will be a good day" and "Thank you, Megan, for being such a lovely coworker!".
