My mother was admitted through the ER for a perforated colon and had emergency surgery. I first met Megan in the SICU the day after my mom's surgery. Immediately Megan was awesome, taking plenty of time to explain everything regarding my mom's care. She made us feel like my mom was in very good hands. Unfortunately, my mom's situation got worse and Megan never got frustrated with our questions and concerns.
After many countless doctors reviewed and cared for my mom, as a family we decided to remove all life support. I've never had to deal with something like this before, and it was one of the worst days of my life. Megan knew how much our family was hurting, and came in on her day off to be with us during this time. I was amazed at the kindness that Megan showed our family, and to come in on her day off was above and beyond her call of duty. We really appreciate her more than words can express. While the outcome was devastating to our family, we found peace in knowing my mom received the best care possible from a team of doctors and nurses that did everything to help her.
Sometimes it is the small things that leave a big impact on people, and that is what Megan did for us.
