I was under Meaghan's care and I just had back surgery. When I entered the room, Meaghan immediately set about making me as comfortable as possible and, even more important to me, made my wife comfortable as she could and included in the conversations about what was going to happen to me and how I was going to be treated so there were no questions in her mind and no surprises for her, either.

During the remainder of the afternoon, she was extremely responsive to my needs and often stopped by to see how i was doing and see if there was anything she could do for us. She took care of my nausea problem and managed the pain medication to keep me as comfortable as possible.

When Meaghan came in that morning, she was like a breath of fresh air. She immedicately took over and got me out of bed and ready for "Boot Camp", her term for getting the patient ready to go home. She got me ready and put me through the re-habilitation evaluation process and worked with the the Doctor to be sure that both my wife and I fully understood what needed to done when I went home. I feel quite certain that without her calm responses to the Doctor and her clear concise directions for us, I would not have gone home that day.

The first thing about Meaghan that impressed me was her positive attitude. She made everything positive. From what she said, to the square and direct look into your eyes, to the laughter in her eyes and the kindness in her voice, she was an exceptional person. Meaghan exhibited those qualities that I, as a patient, find to be most needed in the nursing profession. She is a good person, a talented nurse and an exceptional human being. She is a credit to herself, her unit, her hospital and her profession.
