I live in another state and as a 78-year-old widow I have lived alone and done everything for myself since my husband died 27 years ago. During a visit to my daughter in Tyler, Texas, I had an accident that resulted in a broken femur. After surgery and a stay in the hospital I was transferred to the Rehabilitation Center for extensive therapy to relearn how to get dressed, go to the bathroom, shower, and all the other things one does on a daily basis. These things were very difficult for someone who lived alone for so long and was even more embarrassing and awkward for me.
Mary was the one who instantly answered my call for help whenever I needed it. She was always positive about my condition and encouraged my efforts to recover and return to my home. She made the awful situation I found myself in bearable and not at all awkward or embarrassing for me. She always had a pleasant aura no matter what was required of her. Her aura made me want to take her home with me when I was released. I truly believe that Mary deserves the DAISY Award!
