Nurse Mary Ellen always has always displayed extraordinary compassion and skill with all the Patients she communicates and meets with at the Lahey Clinic Internal Medicine Department in Burlington, MA in conjunction with Dr. R. Many times several symptoms of an illness can be baffling to a Patient, especially, for example, when they have a bad Cold. Yet, Mary Ellen gladly helps the Patient with helpful suggestions to relieve the symptoms until they can be fitted into the Dr. R's extremely busy schedule. Mary Ellen is very compassionate in her manner and always displays great deal of skill in determining the severity of any illness. For example, for a cold, she skillfully determines the severity of the Patient's chest congestion, headache, nasal congestion and discomfort, coughing and sore throat. Then, Mary Ellen applies her skill in discussing medical factors such as your blood pressure, glucose levels, pulse, temperature and a multitude of other medical factors affecting the Patient to determine if, at that point, the Patient should see their regular Doctor or another Doctor right away; or if severe enough to proceed to the Evening Walk-in Clinic or go directly to the Emergency Room.
