First nomination:
Mary Cathey always demonstrates every characteristic of the DAISY Award on a daily basis. She always goes out of her way to make the patient first in a compassionate, professional manner. She continuously sets the example for every staff member on teamwork clinical skills, and courtesy. Although all the nurses are fantastic in the Mission system, Mary selflessly works hard to make it even a better hospital.

Second Nomination:
During my clinical experience as a Surgical Technology student on the St. Joseph campus, Mary Cathey showed me a nurse who has the utmost respect for a patient. Showing her care and concern for the patient’s emotional and physical well-being, Mary also taught me how the patient should be treated and respected while in our care. Mary Cathey is a well respected RN and deserves to be recognized for all that she does.

Third Nomination:

Mary provides compassionate care for the patients of the SJH OR and their families every day. She communicates with our patients’ families on an hourly basis to keep them updated. She is an incredible nurse educator and an amazing teammate. She is very precise and detail oriented, and can make the most difficult cases go smoothly on a regular basis. In short, I could not do my job without her. She is indispensable. For Mary, the patient always comes first.
