I was admitted to Inpatient at the beginning of December and, after several days, my doctor wanted me to begin chemotherapy. Mary Blankenship was my nurse, and she continually checked on me, brought me educational information about the chemotherapy I was receiving and made sure I understood everything that would be taking place. With every bag of chemotherapy I received, she continued to make sure I understood what was happening. At one point I fell asleep, and when I woke up, Mary and I talked together for a couple of hours while we waited on the last bag.
After the chemotherapy, Mary mentioned that a friend of hers worked in the department and had the same cancer that I did. Mary introduced us to one another, and they shared information with me about a local support group, which was so encouraging to me.
My wife and I have been coming here since the end of 2008, and, at the time, my wife was a patient. I never realized the level of care that your technicians and nurses give to your patients until I became one. You are all truly special!
