Mary is unbelievable. She came by this morning with a big bag of yarn and knitting needles to continue her lessons. Mary has come by for the past few days to teach a patient how to crochet on her own time. She met this patient in the ICU and noticed that she didn't speak English or Spanish - but an eastern Iranian language. Because of this, she wasn't able to watch TV or do anything else to pass the time, so Mary brought her supplies and went to work. The patient lights up each time Mary enters the room and can't stop smiling every time she sees the yarn. I am so thankful for Mary bringing such a bright life into this woman's life. She was even able to give solace and comfort to the patient about her wound because of her wound care background. She is amazing!

Words cannot begin to express my thanks and gratitude to Mary, who helped me and my husband during the time that we stayed in the hospital. Thank you not just for being the best nurse in the world. Thank you for walking me through knowing nothing about wound care, until I knew how to take care of my husband's wound. Thanks for walking me through my fear of blood. I was really scared to see my husband's wound, but now I know I can drain the bag and help him clean the area. People may not remember exactly what you did or what you do, but they always remember how you made them feel. Thanks for being part of our journey.
