Mary Anne shows an overwhelming commitment to our mission of compassionate care and to her life as a nurse. She cares for a very difficult and sometimes offensive patient population. Her answer to that is always "we have to love them more". Recently, I have watched Mary Anne go above and beyond in three situations helping Sr Betty with 2 BVM parishioners with mental health problems, and her response to Theresa Hunt's tragic shooting, and in the fire affecting her colleague Mary Kelly. She deserves this DAISY Award.

As a parish nurse @ BVM I came upon 2 people in need of care. I contacted Mary Anne who assessed each one and both were in need of Psych care. One was compliant and responded to treatment and care. The second was noncompliant, Mary Anne went to his apartment emptied at least 20 bags of trash, cleaned his home, washed his personal belongings. She had him see multiple doctors and helped him with follow-up. She continues to work with him for contracting ongoing service.
