Marty goes above and beyond each and every day. He is the nurse that you want taking care of your family. He is the one who not only takes care of the patient physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. He treats each patient as individuals, and as a whole. I am amazed each day that I see him working on the floor.
When doing patient rounds, I hear his name over and over again. Phrases like, "We need more Marty's as nurses!", "He is awesome!", and "He gives the very best care!" When you are sick or in need of being in the hospital, your experience is truly impacted on the care given by the nurses. Marty is that nurse! The nurse that thinks of others before himself. The nurse that goes that extra mile for all. I am proud to have him on my team, and I am grateful for the kind of nurse he is.
Not only is Marty a great nurse for his patients, but he is an awesome team player with his colleagues. He picks up shifts when needed, he is more than willing to help others especially around the holidays so they can be home with their families. Anytime I need assistance or help, he is the first to jump in! You see him running all over the unit when alarms are ringing, whether it is his patient or not. He is an awesome nurse. Vidant Beaufort is lucky to have him, and again I am very proud to say he is a part of our team! He is the nurse I want taking care of my family.
