I have been a nurse for 13 years, so I am more critical of nursing care. I think it's easy to see when someone is just doing a "job" versus practicing a profession of compassion. During my grandmother's hospitalization, Marquetta went above and beyond her expected duties and demonstrated true caring and empathy. She routinely came to visit her, took time to sit with her, hold her hand, tell her stories, listen to my grandmother's stories, she even took the time to curl her hair and help her feel human again. That is true nursing excellence, true comfort care. Thank you for everything you did during her last days!
