We have an 89-year-old patient, admitted for over a week already. Nurse Marivi never gets tired of doing her job as a nurse and taking care of the senior citizen patient. One time, Nurse Marivi went inside the room of the patient to give her due medicines when she saw that the patient was alone. The patient was weak, complaining of headaches and dizziness, with blood pressure above normal. She was pale looking and perspiring a lot sitting in her wheelchair. Marivi immediately assisted the patient to lie down comfortably in bed and hooked her up to oxygen. The nurse was worried and didn't leave the patient one bit and kept on monitoring her status. The patient eventually felt relieved with the care given to her. After resting to regain her strength, Marivi continuously took care of her, feeding her until her watcher arrived. The patient's daughter personally thanked Marivi for the care, compassion, love, and patience in taking care of her mother. What I witnessed was so heartwarming that I hope all nurses will be like Marivi.
