Letter One:
She made my husband feel safe. I could go home and sleep without worry. The next morning she would tell me she made him feel safe and not alone. This made it so much better for him and for me. I wish he always had nurses like her.

She cares and you can see it in her eyes. She speaks softly to him and it means so much to have someone like her when you are sick. If we have to go back to the 5th floor, I hope he gets Marisa again.

I know the 7pm to 7am shift isn’t want everyone wants to work but I’m thankful she works it.

Thank you!

Letter Two:
Since 2006 I have been in DeSoto Hospital – 42 days in ICU for a total of 90 days. Two years to recover medically. Died three times in the hospital and twice at home.

When I met Marisa, I saw compassion in her eyes, patience for the love of her patients. In her tiny little hands, I knew I was in good hands. I haven’t died recently, but wake up with her taking care of me was wonderful.

I saw compassion in her eyes, love for her patients and kindness in those tiny hands taking care of people. I have felt the comfort, knowledge and security of her taking care of me over and above and beyond the call of duty.

I never had the chance to thank her before I was discharged. Just wanted the hospital to realize what you have in this lady. If she ever left your hospital the hospital won’t suffer but the patients will.

I don’t know what Daisy means to her or her career. If she does or doesn’t get the daisy, please give her a rose from me.

Marisa, May God Bless You!
