... Our son L has been in the NICU for the past 7 weeks. From the beginning, Marinelle has treated two new parents, scared and naive, with as much care and compassion as she gave our son. She never hesitated to let us be involved in his care, even though it took us twice as long to complete. Marinelle never hesitated to be an advocate for L, encouraging us to do the same. For that reason, I believe L thrived from the moment he entered her care. It was very comforting hearing her talk to L. You could tell he was comforted in hearing her voice and he began to respond from just hearing her in the room. She always referred to L as "my friend" and she was able to hold and comfort him, like any mom would want to see. All of this made it easier for a worried mom to sleep in an extra hour or two, which can be priceless at times.

We always looked forward to having Marinelle as our nurse. We knew it would be a good day when we saw her entire our room. She is a true definition for what it means for a nurse to "make a difference". We knew L would noticeably progress, in some way, in the care of Marinelle. We could not thank Marinelle enough for all her teaching she has done with us over the past 7 weeks. She was always careful not to overwhelm us, and never assumed we already knew something. Marinelle has provided us with more care than we could have ever asked for. I really felt that she not just took on Luke as her patient, but our family. I love being able to brag that Luke was in such great care with her. For that, we could never thank her enough.

Marinelle was amazing! She made us feel so at home and comfortable. She explained everything and never seemed bothered even though I asked a ton of questions and I know she had more babies to care for than just mine.
