Flawless execution, Maria assures everything she engages in proceed as efficiently and completely as possible. She engages the right resources at the right time, escalates appropriately, and provides timely and complete communication to appropriate parties.
An example was when a client had an internal issue with how they wanted to utilize the Rehab IRF-PAI. Maria worked with the client team to determine what the specific issue was. She then reached out to the solution specific team and escalated through appropriate channels to determine what options they had and what Cerner's recommendation was. She communicated this back to the client team and end users, and a decision was ultimately made not to go against Cerner's recommendation. She was fully engaged throughout the process and was instrumental in resolving this issue. Maria's client got behind on their BMDI/Infusion testing and just prior to going live Maria jumped in and assisted the client in completing the testing.
Maria has been instrumental in driving the readmissions implementation timeline to meet the CNO's request for this to be ready by October despite the solution consultant wanting to push it to January. She advocates appropriately for the client. Maria recognized a solution improvement opportunity with the Dynamic Documentation CKI concept mapping. She independently sought client and physician input, escalated to Cerner engineering and was able to get resolution.
Maria has a very strong relationship with the CNIO, the Project Manager for EMR Clinical Transformation, and the Nurse Informaticist team. She is well respected and they reach out to her for advice on system functionality, workflow, etc. Maria is respected by all team members both Cerner and her client, she is the go-to person for all nursing clinical aspects.
For the Ambulatory project, Maria worked exhaustively in the command center during the pilot and all four waves of ambulatory go live to provide workflow, clinical and operational expertise. After the go lives, she went above and beyond and provided lunch and learn web ex sessions with many of the clinics to assure good adoption.
During the inpatient conversions, Maria set expectations for the newer project clinical strategist and for all clinical strategists who have supported the first wave of conversions.
Maria fosters client reference activity. Maria is well known as a go-to contact for client counterparts. Many references and or demo opportunities are brought to her and she works each opportunity appropriately though the Engmt Mgmt team. A few specific examples she helped out on were the Clinical Leader Organizer, Readmissions, IPOCs, and Core Measures
Maria has worked with Cerner Math and CCL Team on Nursing Innovation which has included a Nursing Continuity Report which is a first for Cerner and has driven data analytics to help the CNIO evaluate nurse staffing. She was also involved in the development of IPOC reporting which has allowed the nursing leaders to evaluate the highly used IPOCS to improve clinical practice.
