My husband suffered a heart attack on a Saturday and had an angiogram the next day. During the angiogram, he went into cardiac arrest and had to be "shocked" twice. He was then taken to a room where Marge was assigned to take care of him. He was not in a good place, as four days earlier he had fractured his heel and was in tremendous pain. He appeared to be impatient, stressed and demanding when he is usually grateful, appreciative, and kind. Marge never once wavered from being compassionate for the position he was in. She was constantly patient and kind to my husband.
At one point, my husband apologized, with tears in his eyes to Marge for being a jerk. She told him she understood that he was in pain and felt his behavior was appropriate. My husband was so appreciative of her patience and kindness. She made an extremely tough day, a day that we could be thankful for. When a nurse touches your heart, the way Marge touched ours, it is a wonderful and blessed experience. Thank you!
