Margie was my mom's nurse for two days. My mom has been sick for over a month. She has been in the hospital twice and has made numerous trips to the Emergency Department and doctor's office.
Margie gave my mom excellent care. She took her time with my mom and explained everything to her and answered her questions. My mom is handicapped and I am her caregiver. Margie stressed the importance of taking care of myself so I could take care of my mom. She gave me a coupon for the cafeteria and brought me drinks. We woke up in the morning and our drinks were waiting for us.
My mom has been struggling emotionally as well. She lost her house and all belongings, including her dog on May 25, 2019. Three weeks later she lost my dad. She opened-up to Margie; she told Margie she had nothing left to look forward to and couldn't tell Margie anything positive to say about herself. Margie opened my mom's eyes to things that she has, to look forward to and brought out positive things about my mom and the life she had with my dad. She told my mom that her family needed her and must care for her to be staying at the hospital with her.
I can't thank Margie enough for going above and beyond her job duties and caring for my mom. She opened my mom's eyes as she couldn't see through the fog of heartache. It made a huge difference and gave my mom hope. She is healing physically and mentally.
