Marci is a very active CRNA within our department. She is a great team player and has an excellent relationship with her colleagues. Her pleasant and friendly disposition is appreciated by all patients and staff. She often helps out in other ORs and takes shifts so colleagues can have a day off. Marci also keeps our anesthesia department on the leading edge by organizing monthly CEU opportunities, planning the meetings, coordinating guest speakers, presenting education and submitting CEUs.
She always goes above and beyond to make a personal connection with her patients. She thoroughly reviews charts before entering a room, asks relevant questions and makes patients comfortable with her plan of care.
Marci recently went above and beyond with an urgent ED patient needing an upper endoscopy. She studied the chart in-depth more than 30 minutes before the patient arrived and worked closely with her co-workers to make a safe plan of anesthesia. Marci also worked with multiple departments to coordinate the patient's safe transfer from ED, to OR, to SCU, and thoroughly discussed the procedure and the patient's specific DNR wishes with their family.
