Mandy Staas has always provided great patient care within our department that sometimes we forget how great she actually is, but with the floating to the ED it is even more noticeable when we get flooded with positive feedback. Every comment made below are quotes made by various members of the ER department, proving that we are not the only ones who appreciate her nursing heart and desire to provide the best care she possibly can, even if it is not in her environment. A patient is a patient no matter who, why, or where.

"She willingly and without even batting an eye, started IV's on the elderly and the more assertive and street-wise folk."

"When asked questions that she couldn't have known the answers to, she was compassionate and displayed empathy to help and obtain those answers." "She was wonderful and deserves to know that she represents what nursing is all about caring for those that can't care for themselves without an ounce of judgment."

"Mandy is always a pleasure to work with. She is extremely helpful to the ED flow (making beds and helping transport patients upstairs to inpatient units." She is always available to help with whatever is asked.

"I realize that most L&D RN's are not just thrilled and standing in line with the aspect of rotating to the ED. However, the "can do" attitude of Mandy is so overpowering." She was here all day yesterday and not in the least hindrance or showing disapproval for working in the ED. In fact, she asked if she could do more to help. She even requested to read our huddles so she could be updated with the changes in our department."

"As always, Mandy was great!"

"The ECRI expert followed a patient she was caring for, from Triage to their final destination and found no issues-so another good one for Mandy."

"Mandy the L&D nurse did an excellent job with a fetal demise, worst outcome possible and Mandy was a trooper. She was emotional, which shows she cares and has empathy."
