Mackenzie came into our lives during one of the hardest most gut-wrenching days. My brother was not ever going to wake up or recover. We had to say goodbye. Mackenzie's presence that night was just what we needed. She was a strong advocate and provided my brother with absolutely top-notch nursing care. She was very knowledgeable and organized. She was never flustered by the acuity of the situation. She never seemed overwhelmed. Even with numerous family and friends at his bedside, Mackenzie stayed in the room with us. Just to be there if we had questions or needed her. She was constantly available. She made us feel like we were her number one priority. When we had to say goodbye to him as he went to the OR for organ harvest Mackenzie wasn't actually our nurse. But she was there to be a shoulder to cry on. She held me while I wept. She went above and beyond for our family even though I'm sure she had other things to do. The quality of care we received won't ever be matched.
