I've got a long recovery yet to go but I would like to thank Luz for helping me through when I wasn't sure I could make it.
I came into Memorial through the emergency room because I had an abscess in my abdomen I was absolutely terrified and also in excruciating pain. After my surgery, I was moved and was introduced to Luz. She was my nurse. I have PTSD from being a survivor of the MSD Parkland school shooting and I was having a very difficult time.
Luz has to be the most caring and patient nurse I've ever met; she took so much of her time helping me and explaining everything and just making me feel comfortable even though I was in a great deal of pain and was absolutely terrified. When I couldn't stop shaking she held my hand and calmed me down just by talking with me; she was clearly busy as her phone goes nonstop yet she somehow kept a smile and a great uplifting calmness about her. That even relaxed my PTSD symptoms.
I've had trouble with my IV and again she was there to help she is very understanding sweet and caring. I've got a long recovery yet to go but I would like to thank Luz for helping me through when I wasn't sure I could make it. Thank you, Luz! You are an amazing human being and I really appreciate everything you have done to help me in getting better.
