My significant other was brought into the ER after falling off a roof - Louise was at his bedside continually and gave pain meds in a timely manner to try and control his pain. Even though the ER was busy with ambulances coming in, Louise did not seem to be quick with her treatment or attention - she was there through my significant other's time in the ER until his transfer to a room on the Ortho floor. I did come in after his discharge to personally bring a card for the ER staff and a gift for Louise. Her demeanor and actions made this horrific time an experience that was calming and assuring when it was greatly needed.

Recently we had a crisis patient come into the ED. Louise was not assigned to this section but came over to help take care of the patient as she often does. During her assessment, Louise voiced some concerns that there was a medical concern and the patient was not suitable for the crisis room and began their medical care. This is not an isolated event for Louise as she is always all over the department helping whatever nurse or patient she can. She makes her patients and families feel at ease in the most difficult situations. It is her manner, wisdom and overall nature that makes her such as asset to the department and to LVHN as a whole. On a personal note, Louise is always there for her colleagues and is the first one to offer a hand professionally and personally.
