Lori Wyatt is an excellent nurse. Over Memorial Day weekend I was the point person for ICU and Step-Down. We had quite a few sick patients, a couple of codes, and a couple of patients that the family withdrew care to make comfortable.

At the end of my shift (2000), before leaving, I stopped in one of the rooms to check the patient's status. The family called earlier in the day and requested life support be removed, due to poor prognosis. I had cared for this patient earlier in the week.

As I entered the patient's room, Lori was sitting in a chair by the patient's bed. She was holding his hand and gently singing to him as he was actively dying. The family of the patient decided to not be present. Lori decided the patient would not die alone. The tone of her voice was such that she sounded like an angel calling the patient to heaven. I left the hospital that evening with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes, but at the same time with such joy and pride in Lori Wyatt for her commitment and caring.

Lori is a member of the Army National Guard and is truly an asset to ICU and to our hospital.
