I was a diagnosed with some type of myositis. I had all over muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, and difficulty speaking.
I just wanted to thank you for your excellent care. I don't know where to start to thank you. In addition to your excellent clinical skills, there were so many little things you did for me that made such a big difference. You answered all of my endless questions with patience and compassion. Keeping me updated with all of my labs and test results was so important to me. I felt I had a better handle on what was going on when the team and specialists rounded. You also conferred with the doctors to get info and to update them on my behalf. The Reiki therapist you suggested was wonderful. She came in the day I went home and really helped me to relax. You also tried to space out my frequent lab draws and vital signs overnight, as you knew I was so sleep deprived. There were one hundred little things you did that made such a difference.
I know as nurses we often wonder some days if we've ever made a difference in anyone's life. Let me tell you, I will never forget you. You personally made all the difference in my hospitalization for me. I truly believe my outcome would not have been as good without you there for me, physically and mentally.
