We just wanted to recognize and thank Lleva for her excellent care while my dad was in the ER. We know it's been particularly busy here in the hospital, especially in the ER, with patients in the hallways and holding areas.
We saw how much all the nurses were up and running, trying to care for their patients. In the midst of the craziness, Lleva was attentive, kind, and compassionate. Patients in pain are not often priorities in the ER and all the other times my dad came to the ER for pain in the past ten years, we would hardly ever see the nurse after one administration of pain medication (and we understand why: his vitals are usually stable, etc.), but Lleva checked on my dad, came in to see if the pain medication was effective.
She updated us on CT wait times and the communication she was having with the ER providers. My parents were so appreciative and impressed. My dad has been in the ER more times than we want because of his history of cancer, and now with mets. He is usually very appreciative of the care he receives, but Lleva stood out in the ER.
Dignity Health advertises human kindness and Lleva was the definition of human kindness for us that day. The kindness was brighter because it was in the midst of another crazy day in the ER.
