A 24 year old patient presented critically ill with shock, upper and lower GI bleeding in the setting of a 10 week pregnancy with hyperemesis. The patient presented numerous diagnostic and management challenges. Lisa astutely personally reviewed the ultrasound result and notified me immediately about an unexpected finding of fluid which quickly led to further evaluation and prompt OR intervention. Her care for the total management of her patient, which I have had the privilege of observing for many years has been key in offering the patient her only chance for survival. She was comforting to the patient and her husband in what is and will be a very difficult situation. She works well with other health team members and always acts in her patients' be interest. I am proud to call her a colleague.
