While during my brief stay, I encountered nothing but dedicated and caring professionals, though I do have to extend my deeptest gratitude to one in particular, Lisa Quigg, RN. It was obvious to me that her general nursing knowledge is superb. Her understanding of the needs and care of the stroke patient is exceptional, yet, her hunger for further knowledge is easily seen in her questions and actions. Her ability to provide patient education in a skillful way at an appropriate level to the patient is beyond compare. While her energy level almost exhausted me, her enthusiasm and dedication to excellence in care are irreproachable. Lisa's ability to communicate verbally, by touch and with her facial and body expressions is unlike that of any nurse I have encountered in my 35+ years in the field, which includes a four year period when I managed a large number of nursing staff in 17 countries. Simply put, in my often critical opinion, Lisa Quigg, RN, represents nursing at it's finest and Kaiser is very fortunate to have her in their employ.

I am extremely lucky that my stroke was minor and I am recovering very quickly. The unexpected stroke diagnosis was frightening, minor or not. The care and concern that was shown by your staff and doctors reflects an entire attitude that helped me through a fear-provoking event. I want to let you know just how grateful I am to the staff and physicians who gave not only their knowledge, but of themselves.
