Lisa is a wonderful person and a very compassionate, caring nurse. She definitely chose the right profession. Our family never experienced the Behavioral Health unit at Susquehanna Health Divine Providence Hospital. My mother had been through quite an ordeal with her medical issues and was having a lot of problems with anxiety. When it was time for her to be discharged from the nursing home, we knew she needed some help with dealing with everything she had been through. That is how and why she ended up in the unit. This was not an easy decision for the family and we were all apprehensive about committing her for care, but Lisa and the unit physician, soon made us feel comfortable about leaving mother there.
Right from the start, Lisa greeted our family with a smile as she helped us through the admitting paperwork. She worked to help us feel at ease with our decision and after expressing to her everything that not only my mother, but the whole family had been through, she was eager to provide my mother with the care she needed. You could really tell she was genuinely concerned.
Throughout my mom's time in the unit, Lisa always stopped in to check on her, chat a little bit and make her laugh. She always did everything she could to help mom and the family. If any of the family members had a question, we knew Lisa would answer it for us. She made a very uneasy situation a whole lot easier to handle.
I always looked forward to the days when Lisa worked because I knew that my mother was in the best hands she could be in. Lisa truly cares about her patients and it is very evident in the way she interacts and provides care to them. You can tell that being a nurse is her calling.
