Lisa went out of her way to research inpatient intervention.
P - Lisa is passionate and caring. She is always thinking of how she can elevate the care of her patients and elevate the work environment to achieve this.
E- She is very empathetic and jovial with her patients and she is a joy to work with. She is present and exemplifies nursing through her attitude and compassion to patients, their families, and her teammates.
T- Lisa's level of experience with her inpatient surgical leadership background has provided a great resource in our department. She is a leader and is very helpful and encouraging to all she works with. This level of competence truly benefits her teammates, but more importantly, benefits the patients she cares for.
A- One situation that exemplifies her level of practice and professionalism is when she recently was looking after a patient with alcoholism who was suffering from repeated episodes of alcohol-induced complications. He and his wife presented with little planning for follow-up care other than the repeat cycle of ED visits; ED intervention; discharge and repeat. Lisa went out of her way to research inpatient intervention at Palmetto Health and then convinced her patient and his wife that this was the best course of action for his long-term stability. She did this not because she was directed to do so, but because this was the best thing for the patient and his family.
L- She is very compassionate and cares for her patients and those she works with and she is a wonderful member of our ED team. She carries out her leadership responsibilities and mentoring capabilities on each shift and she is seen as a reliable resource for everyone in the ED.
S- As the unit scheduler, she selflessly provides hours outside her scheduled shift to ensure that the unit is staffed. When she is on shift there is not a thing she would not do if asked. She is a selfless person who always puts her patients and her team first.
Well done Lisa and congratulations!
