My mother is an 89-year old lady who has been undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma at SRRSH for 15 years. I believe it is a miracle that my mother's condition remains stable, which has a lot to do with the hard work of her healthcare providers. In particular, our nurse, Ni Linjuan, is the one greatly appreciated by my family. With my mother's condition, it is not easy for a nurse to find the appropriate vein for blood drawing or IV therapy, which can lead to multiple punctures. Most of the nurses in the unit will ask for help from Ms. Ni, who usually observes carefully, palpates the veins, and starts the venipuncture successfully on the first attempt. She is the one who relieves my mother's fear and pain of venipuncture!
Besides her excellent skills, Ms. Ni is the role model of providing service with a smile. We can tell that she cares for patients and their family from her heart. She does a detailed and thorough assessment on each patient to provide individualized care. She is always there for patients and family to answer questions and help with difficulties. Ms. Ni remains calm and unruffled even when she patients treat her with unkindness. For example, the disease my mother has suffered for such a long time causes her to speak rudely to nurses sometimes, but Ms. Ni listens to her and responds with gentleness.
Ni Linjuan is such a great nurse and we thank her!
