Tell us why this nurse is excellent: I am the Clinical Director on A6N/A7C1. Recently one of our long term CF patients died in the PICU--I received an e-mail from the nurse caring for him that eve. I asked Sarah if I could use parts of her e-mail to nominate Linsday and she agreed. "My name is Sarah Reddish and I work in the PICU. I was taking care of one of your CF patients when he unexpectedly passed away. This patient had many visitors after his passing. Among these visitors was a nurse from the CF floor, Lindsay Pitcher. Lindsay ended up going above and beyond for this patient, his family and me. I must tell you that this was my first experience losing a patient in the almost 2 years that I've been here. I took it pretty hard and I only had him for 2 days. Lindsay stayed around for the family and ended up helping me more than she will ever know. I can't begin to put into words my appreciation for everything she did for me that night. She stayed with me every step of the way...talked to the family with me, did memory making with me, and cried with me during the painful process of end of life care..until 10:30PM. Lindsay was my saving grace that night!! I'm tearing up in the middle of the 400 pod just writing this. I just wanted you to know what a wonderful person you have working for you, although I'm sure you already know. I can't imagine such a kind-hearted person going unrecognized"
