Entering into the hospital as a patient is very different than entering into it as a nurse. I should know after all, I am a nurse, but I am also a patient.

... I was scheduled to have pretty major surgery and knew that I would have to be admitted afterwards. Lindsay wanted to ensure that I would have a "friendly" face present in the operating room until I was under anesthesia. While I have worked here at the hospital for 15 years, and know many of the staff, to have Lindsay do this for me meant a lot. Once they got me back into the operating room, I was even more nervous than before despite the medication they had given me and I tried not to let it show. As soon as I saw her though, she could tell I was apprehensive. She came to my side and held my hand the entire time that the operating room team prepped me and until I was under anesthesia. Lindsay did not do this for me just because I am another nurse who works here at the hospital..she did it because she is a compassionate and caring individual.
