On a Friday before a long holiday weekend, the infusion center at Brownstown started their day without phones or internet service. Due to the upcoming holiday, the site's operational PM and RPA were on vacation. When Lindsay (RN Clinical Supervisor) became aware of the situation she worked quickly to connect with Comcast and bring up hotspots, (including from her phone) to minimize impact to patient care that relies on the internet to provide chemotherapy treatments to the center's oncology patients. As the day progressed, she was able to get in touch with the operational director and have IT come out and assist in the issues, all while carrying her own patient load and training a newly hired RN. According to the IT department, "Lindsay was instrumental in engaging IT and Comcast and getting Comcast to come on-site all while maintaining focus on providing excellent patient care under very challenging circumstances. She was wonderfully compassionate, gracious and helpful throughout the event and was great to work with." Beaumont Medical Group is fortunate to have such a level headed leader working within one of our offices.
