For the past 36 years, the letters of praise, commendations and DAISY Award nominations for Linda Brown have been arriving regularly. Her ability to relate to patients from all walks of life is one of her greatest strengths.
A very old letter that unfortunately is not dated but on paper faded and yellow said that Linda's "zing and zest for life added to mine and I am very grateful for her care."
Digging further into her files reveals a letter dated February 1988 from a physician for her "extremely intelligent suggestion related to a way to control a patient's pain without creating major difficulties. Her suggestion was utilized and the patient had dramatic improvement."
And just this past July, a family nominated her for the DAISY Award for her constant attention to their son and said that "she is very kind, fun, attentive, professional and capable…and every other adjective there is to describe an excellent nurse."
A touching nomination from 2014: "I am visiting my dying sister. Linda has shown compassion and is very caring. She made things bearable. Without her we would have been lost."
Linda is retiring at the end of the year. Congratulations to her but I am afraid Bozeman Health will feel a big loss.
