Working in California I fly back and forth to be here on my days off. Last night I was terrified to go back home thinking he was going to be left uncared for. This afternoon I can go home knowing that Laurie Allen will be here for him. She has taken better care of him than I would have been able to as a nurse (and I don't say that about anyone). Five weeks ago, my husband and I were planning our engagement party and talking about ring shopping. Today we talk about chemo and making it to the end of each week. Tonight, I was sure I was going to lose him, but Laurie has taken such amazing care of him, she has given me hope. Words cannot explain how great she has been. She truly has been an angel and savior.
My husband is my best friend and I can't imagine a day without him. I want Laurie to know that she has made a huge difference and she is in my prayers. As a nurse, I want to go back to work and provide the same kind of care and compassion to my patients. I could go on but I have to catch a flight which, thanks to Laurie, I can comfortably get on.
