Lauren compassionately fulfills her role as the Clinical Manager of Critical Care E at Southwest General Health Center. Lauren ascended the clinical ladder from direct care nurse to the Assistant Clinical Manager role prior to assuming the responsibility for the position of Clinical Manager of Critical Care E. Lauren earned a Master of Science in Nursing and her clinical expertise is congruent with this advanced level of education. Lauren acts as a mentor to members of the direct care team. She has mastered the specialized skills relevant to critical care in nursing and routinely works to integrate evidence-based practices into the standard of care. She is physically present in the care environment during all working shifts, demonstrating her commitment to collaborating with frontline staff.

I have been a nurse at Southwest Hospital for over 15 years, Lauren, CCE Clinical Manager is by far the most supportive, professional, and dedicated manager I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I am honored to nominate Lauren for The DAISY Nurse Leader Award. Lauren is a supportive leader to her team's needs personally and professionally. She offers an open-door policy that encourages open communication, feedback, and guidance. She is readily available by phone at any time, comes in early to be supportive to the night shifters, and is actively engaged with patients, staff, and all other departments during the day. Lauren spends a considerable amount of time developing her staff professionally. She spent countless hours recently heading and developing a year's worth of training education requirements for 2020 CCE RNs. Then still finds time to be a frontline advocate for staff to obtain CCRN certification and furthering their education.
