Lauren Chouinard makes each shift an adventure where you can see things and look at things differently through her eyes.
Lauren is wise beyond her years. She is so compassionate. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you have come from, or the road you have traveled. Be it good or bad, she treats all her patients the same.
A patient known by many staff members over the years had passed away at the hospital. She wasn’t Lauren’s patient during her final admission, yet she felt a connection with her and went with another colleague to administer post-mortem care.
When I went into the room, I was so touched by what I saw. They were giving the patient a full bed bath, covering her wounds, and Lauren was rubbing her legs. It brought tears to my eyes. They were so sweet and gentle. It was like they were taking care of an old friend.
