During my 49 days as a patient at Research Medical Center, Lauren has exceeded every expectation and all with a smile. With most of my hospitalization being within the Burn Unit, I received care from numerous nurses, but nothing to the level of the professionalism of Lauren.
While I can tell professionalism is key, Lauren also made efforts to share and connect on a personal level. Lauren took steps to better everything from the placement of bed linens to administering medications timely and as needed based on the pain level. I valued Lauren's awareness and action to ensure cleanliness and she made sure once she was done in the room, she left it tidier than when she entered. With every ask, I knew she was the best advocate for my care and relaying important care notes to doctors and incoming nurses when shift change occurred.
I never doubted Lauren's knowledge and was always willing to go the extra mile if a need was even remotely mentioned. She never made me feel like I was a burden for tasks that as a new amputee were difficult to achieve. I note she had several patients to care for, but I always felt like she took the time to address every concern, no matter how big or small, and I received assurance that it would be taken care of effectively and efficiently. She made sure of every detail and provided me with items even though it meant multiple trips to my room, for example: refill ice/water, retrieve supplements for wound healing or even an extra pillow.
Lauren was the first nurse to provide "next steps" towards the end of my stay so I was apprised of what was to be expected. Overall, Lauren is a very hard worker, a positive influence when things weren't going perfect and a real team player with other medical staff and doctors. There are few people who provide the level of care that Lauren does. We as a family are grateful for all that she did during my stay and know she will go far with her extra efforts with patient care.
