I am only a close friend of the patient and her family. I started hearing about the nurse from day one! I had the pleasure of meeting this infamous nurse just two days before the passing of this sweet baby. Lauren became family to everyone who walked in. She showed sincere empathy to this family and patient. I saw strength within my friend that I did not think was possible due to the patience and information the nurse showed. She stayed over her shift at times to be there for the baby and the baby's mom. She made extra trips to make things comfortable for this family. She gave hugs and kisses. She did not leave without a good-bye. She made sure if she was gone you knew you could call her whenever. No one ever wants to leave their baby, but with Lauren it was ok.

I cannot thank Lauren enough for being here and guiding this young family as they faced the toughest days of their lives. On the night of the baby's passing, I watched Lauren become so nurturing. She assisted with pictures. She explained the process of everything and answered our questions. She stayed past the end of her shift as the mom had requested for her and Lauren to take the final walk and say goodbye to the baby's final spot at Children's. Thank you for loving their baby as your own in her short time here on earth.
