A patient stated she was so impressed with the dedication, care, and compassion of OR nurse, Lauren Alexander.
The patient has numerous allergies including a rare allergy to anything acrylic- she stated she learned the hard way with a past dental procedure with an acrylic glue.
She stated, "Lauren went the distance when the equipment was being reviewed and derma bond discussed as was part of the needed supplies."
The patient and husband were searching online for derma bond to see if acrylic was an ingredient, Lauren took over and found that it indeed was and informed the surgeon and they changed out to another product.
At the same time, she was getting her clindamycin infusion. It was so busy and everyone was hustling doing their job, "my IV was burning and I was so nervous will all my allergies. I got Lauren's attention and told her it was burning, Lauren assured me it was a common reaction and she slowed the infusion and stopped and held my hand."
I thanked her, and she squeezed my hand tighter and said, "I treat all my patients as if they were my family."
