I was scheduled for infusion at 1 pm on a Wednesday this past summer. The week earlier, my mom passed away, and the visitation was planned for 4 pm on the same Wednesday. Obviously, my priority was my mom's visitation, but I really didn't want to miss my infusion. I knew if I had it in the morning, I could do both. Due to the weekend, I couldn't call to reschedule, so I worried. My cousin knows Laura and called her. She told me to show up at 7 am, and she would take care of it, and that she did! When I showed up, everyone knew already I had a tight schedule. All the way from schedulers, blood draws, drug deliveries, and nurses, they all reassured me I would be in and out as efficiently as possible. I had the "red carpet treatment". It was a busy day due to the holiday; I was pulled ahead of everyone and I had bed #1. The result, I had one hour to spare and made it on-time to my mom's visitation. She has gone above and beyond her job responsibilities for me, thank you, Laura.
