My daughter, hurt her knee in cheer and had to have surgery in November to replace a ligament. Our experience from start to end was amazing and filled with people we truly felt were put in place that day to care for our daughter by God alone! My daughter arrived nervous and a bit scared and when the process started, I watched her fear turn into nothing but smiles. It takes an amazing team to continue a smile on a child's face in this type of situation. She had been in surgery for a long enough period for me to start to wonder how things were going. I had just looked up at the wonderful board to see her name move to recovery when the lounge nurse walked over to me to hand me a phone.

At first my heart dropped with the thought that something was wrong but I quickly reminded myself that bad news would come in person. When I answered the phone, the voice of an angel said, "I have your daughter, I am going to take good care of her and I wanted to let you know she was with me."

Tears filled my eyes and my heart filled with joy as I realized God had placed my daughter in the hands of Kristy. She did not have to stop and call me and tell me she was doing ok or that she had her, but she did because she cares about people. Now this was enough for a mommy's heart but what came after from my daughter was so sweet that I knew for sure she was placed there to care for her.

When we got to see her in recovery phase II, (After Kristy's care) my daughter was still a bit sleepy and in and out of being alert. I reached over and softly moved her hair from the side of her face and told her I was there. She looked up at me and said, "Hi mom, I met your friend, I love her, she is my angel. When I was trying to wake up mom, she was right beside me. She was telling me I was ok and that she was going to take good care of me. Mom, she was caressing my hair just like you do, every time I opened my eyes."

I cannot tell you what this meant to me and my daughter. Kristy made my daughter feel like I was there with her when I couldn't be. She genuinely showed love and that is why we call her an angel.
