My daughter was born Friday, November 15. Nurse Kim worked the night shift Friday and Saturday night. This is our first child and although this was truly the most exciting time for us, being new parents, there was also potential for fear and worry.

Nurse Kim was so patient and caring while we were there. I felt at ease and well taken care of from the first moment I met her. Her demeanor was calm, helpful, caring, and gentle. I wish that all nurses had her bedside manners. She had a willingness to teach us so that we felt confident as new parents. My baby was not latching on when I tried to nurse and Nurse Kim was ever so gentle and patient (with both mommy and baby). She spent a lot of time next to us helping me learn how to hold the baby and position baby's mouth. Many times I felt she may have grown tired and impatient with my struggles, but each time I looked to her in those moments she continued to stay calm and supportive. When I felt defeated and stressed, Nurse Kim was so calm and persistent that I was encouraged not to give up. She never made me feel like she was rushing to leave the room. On the contrary, I feel like she gave 110% to us each time she came to check on me.

She treated my mother and husband with respect and kindness as well. We feel confident that our decision to have our baby at North Fulton Hospital was the right decision.
