My husband was admitted for suspicious findings on his biopsy. His doctors initially were unsure his exact cause. I was terrified and anxious. My husband needed plasmapheresis. The first time my husband has plasmapheresis I waited for him alone and scared in his hospital room. I was visibly upset. Kimberly came in with a warm smile and sat down with me and listened to my fears and anxiety, and was very reassuring of the excellent care he was receiving from his doctors. She didn't leave me until I was feeling better. The next day she was working, she wasn't assigned to his care but still stopped us in the hallway to check in on us. She asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. Three days after that Kim was assigned as my husband's nurse again. She was the most caring and compassionate nurse I've ever known. She was always warm and friendly and never rushed to get out of our room. She stayed and spent time with us to answer any questions and ease our fears. When she walked in our room we felt like she was a friend. It truly showed how much she cared about my husband. She cheered for him when doctors confirmed he was improving and would make a full recovery. I don't think it would have been possible for us to have had a better nurse than Kim.
