Kim Arnold has dedicated much of her life to caring for others including 18 years at LewisGale Hospital Pulaski where she is known for her exceptional bedside manner. It's the reason the hospital's Nursing Professional Development Council selected her as the winner of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

"Kim displays the compassion for her patients that is the essence of nursing," said Cathy Smotrila, R.N., Director of Emergency Services. "This compassion, combined with her nursing skills, sets the standard for all nurses."

Kim's interest in healthcare started in high school and she soon discovered her passion for the nursing field and emergency medicine. She is a certified emergency room nurse and currently serves as the clinical team leader in the emergency department. She is also certified in trauma nursing.

"I am committed to providing excellent patient care, "said Kim. "I always strive to be sensitive to my patients' needs and feel honored to be recognized for the compassionate care I provide. To be nominated and to receive the DAISY award is one of my greatest rewards."

"Kim puts her heart into everything she does and her patients are no exception," said Linda Shepherd, R.N., Chief Nursing Officer. "Her knowledge and expertise make her a huge asset to her patients as well as our facility."
