Eight months ago, our daughter was delivered at 24 weeks and taken to the NICU at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Being first time parents, we feared what was to come, but when the NICU doctor told us the NICU staff will be our new big extended family, he wasn't lying! We are thankful to have met someone whom we consider a friend! Someone who took care of our daughter like she would her own, someone who loved our daughter as much as she loves her own, someone who stood beside us when the odds were against us and held our hand and told us everything was going to be ok. The man upstairs had bigger plans for our little girl! Nursing is not just a profession, it's a way of life!
How your treat your patients will make an impact on their lives forever - our lives have been forever changed with Kim Franklin being one of our primary nurses. When we were not there, our hearts were settled knowing Ms. Kim was working and taking care of our little girl. Our girl was in the NICU for 4.5 months and Ms. Kim loved our little girl and fought for her and with her! In those 4.5 months, we knew that Ms. Kim was not about the money when she came in to work; we saw how she held our daughter with gentleness, we saw how she patiently allowed our daughter to grow and learn how to do things on her own, we saw how she loved our daughter. We saw Ms. Kim's passion for being in the NICU and it made our hearts flutter that our hero wears scrubs for 12 hours, 3 times a week and sometimes more, to love and care for these little humans!
