Kim Bentley is the nurse you want in your back pocket at all times. She possesses strong, unique skills that I want to recognize, as they have helped facilitate my success as a nurse and improve the care we are able to provide to our patients. This woman isn't one who leaves you when you are drowning. She will jump right in, answer call bells, clean up patients, step in when a patient is threatening to harm staff, and she seeks out all resources to ensure she has literally done EVERYTHING in her power to help.
I cannot tell you what it means to have someone like her in our corner. Her quick and critical thinking skills are strong, which makes a huge difference for our patients. She is an amazing listener, whether to a patient or family member who is disgruntled or a teammate who is overwhelmed. She is always expressing sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff she oversees. She is amazing at finding solutions and prompt to act and deliver. You know that if she says she did everything, she TRULY did. In STAT responses she has drawn labs and taken patients for scans. A special trait of hers is her personable spirit, as she truly cares. She is very transparent and genuine, which is rare and well-respected. Her knowledge and skills are amazing.
Her leadership capabilities are even better. When she is here as a nurse, there is teamwork, camaraderie, and union focusing on the greater good of our patients. She wants to make a difference, she feels empathy and is committed to her duty. Her "I'm not better than you" attitude and willingness to go through the trenches together - these just aren't words and you couldn't ask for a better leader. The difference she makes is immeasurable. Her ability to triage, multi-task, and to remain calm, cool, and collected no matter what when a thousand fires are happening are unparalleled. What an incredible leader, passionate nurse, and one extraordinary human being! We believe in everything she is!
