Kerry was the primary nurse for a 26-week pregnant patient diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She helped coordinate the care of multiple attendings and consultant while softening the shock of this unexpected diagnosis for the family. She ultimately helped transfer this very sick patient to a tertiary care center.

I wish to add how incredibly dedicated Kerry Bresnahan was to this patient, family, and the entire situation. Kerry received this patient who was 26 weeks pregnant and was obviously very sick (this was early in the illness and nothing had been diagnosed). Kerry was very attentive to the patient and family while giving care, drawing labs, researching results while keeping the patient and family informed and educated to results and changes. The patient was eventually diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Kerry was scheduled on the next shift and again knowing the illness, demands and family needs Kerry requested this patient to assure continuity and to provide the care Kerry knew she needed. The patient was eventually transferred to another facility and Kerry continued to follow up and offer assistance to the patient and family.
