Being here was all new and scary to me, this nurse was always there to reassure me and to answer any and all questions I had. She listened to me when nobody else was there and went above and beyond. She made my stay feel so much more comfortable. I cannot thank her enough for her endless care and support. By far one of the best nurses I have ever had an encounter with.

Kelsey was so caring and compassionate during my stay. She made me feel really comfortable and took the time to listen to my feelings. She checked in with me throughout the day. Kelsey is a wonderful nurse who you can tell really enjoys her job. Thank you 3 South and Kelsey.

Respect-Excellence-Professionalism-Empathy-Communication-Teamwork. She has them all. Great Nurse. She's the one I trusted. She always took the time to talk or offer help no matter how busy she was.

What a TEAM!! I know these two great people assisted in my recovery. Women like you need to be cloned. Thank you for everything you guys did.

My interactions with Kelsey have been limited to requests for things like the patient phone from the nurses' station. However, she was always extremely friendly and helpful even if she was in the middle of something. She truly appears to be "Happy to help." Thank you Kelsey!

As a senior nurse, I look around at who will be the next generation of nurses. Will they be kind, will they be knowledgeable, and will they have empathy, and possess the awareness of the importance of self- care that will help them survive the world of healthcare?
I am happy to say I have been lucky enough to work with a nurse who exceeds at all of the above. Kelsey has been working with us since her college internship. She has shown steady growth and an eagerness to learn. She has compassion and professionalism that allows her to excel on the unit.
She doesn't shy away from some very difficult and challenging situations this unit has to offer; instead, she uses them as an opportunity to broaden her knowledge base. She's always willing to take on an extra patient or switch from dayshift to nightshift should the need arise. She goes the extra for not only her patients but her coworkers as well. She's never too busy to jump in and help. It would shock most that she has only been a nurse for a couple of years.
When she arrives on the unit it is always with a smile, whether she is organizing a secret Santa, a weight loss challenge, wrapping her patients in a warm blanket, or getting carnations for her co-workers, she always leaves those she encounters better for having been around her. When she leaves for the day she smiles at the patients, tells them to have a good night, makes sure her coworkers are all set, and says a chipper "see you in the morning".
If the next generation of nurses follows her example, I truly feel we will be in good hands. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
